Personal Previews are an important tool that helps Next Act forge memorable, strong connections between artists and audience members. Free of charge, these casual but noteworthy presentations give context to the play with insights on topics like artistic production, design challenges and historical background.
Personal Previews begin 30 minutes prior to a performance. They may occur on various weeknights throughout the run of a show, Wednesday through Sunday. For details on when Personal Previews are happening for a specific production, please see that production’s page on our site. Before purchasing tickets, please call us with any questions at (414) 278-7780.
Talkbacks occur after a performance at Next Act Theatre and give audience members a chance to engage directly with actors and other members of a production. Directors and actors host many of the informal discussions, with occasional assistance from professionals with specific expertise on issues that arise in the plays. Talkbacks provide the audience with a forum in which to reflect upon the play and the issues portrayed within, and the chance to share their perspectives with others in a welcoming environment.
Personal previews last for an average of 30 minutes after a given performance. They always occur on Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons, though they may not occur on every Thursday or Sunday of a show’s run. Once per production, we offer a Sunday Night Insights Talkback, which occurs digitally over video conferencing software Zoom. These virtual Talkbacks are open to all ticketholders from all dates of the performance, allowing interested patrons who have had time to reflect on the production to discuss it collectively. For details on when Talkbacks are happening for a specific production, please see that production’s page on our site. Before purchasing tickets, please call us with any questions at (414) 278-7780.
