Next Actors: Summer Theatre for Teens
Next Actors is a six-week playwriting and performance program offered free of charge to a select group of Milwaukee area teens. Hopeful students audition to join a cast carefully chosen to include talent from as many different cultural, ethnic, racial and economic backgrounds as possible. Guided by professional teaching artists, Next Actors write and create their own original theatre piece, performing at venues across the metro area.
Auditions for the 2016 Next Actors are now closed. Please check back in January for the 2017 dates.
This year's program will take place June 20 through July 30, 2016. The first three weeks consist of improvisation exercises, brainstorming sessions, idea development, movement and music workshops. Weeks four and five are spent writing and rehearsing.
