Responding to Challenging Times – Next Act Theatre

Responding to Challenging Times

June 3, 2020

Dear Next Act friends and family,

In response to continuing health and safety concerns surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, Next Act Theatre has decided to delay the start of its 2020-21 season.

We will push our production of RED HERRING, originally scheduled for September and October 2020, to May 27 – June 20, 2021. This means our production of THE CHRISTIANS will open our season, running November 19 – December 15, 2020, and we can’t wait to see you there.

Season tickets are on sale right now on our website, and single tickets will go on sale August 3. All season ticket holders who have renewed their tickets for our 2020-21 season will still have their same seats for our new RED HERRING dates. Season ticket exchanges will open on August 3 and will still be free for subscribers up to 48 hours in advance of the performance.

There is also much more to say about role of theatre in this difficult time (see David’s video above). As we face an unprecedented pandemic and violence towards Black and brown members of our society, the stories shared and conversations created by theatre are vital. We hope you’ll be kind, stay safe and take care of each other until we can join together again.

On behalf of all of us at Next Act,

David Cecsarini
Producing Artistic Director

Dear Next Act friends and family,

In response to the continually-evolving COVID-19 situation and in the interest of public health, Next Act Theatre has decided to cancel our rescheduled production of 9 CIRCLES as well as our upcoming fundraising event, Bravo, Next Act, 2020!

This was not an easy decision to make, but the uncertainty of the situation has made it difficult to feel comfortable planning events for that time frame. We are sad we will be unable to share a show as striking and as important as 9 CIRCLES with you, and we will certainly miss wrapping up our 30th anniversary season at Bravo, Next Act, 2020!

While our box office remains closed for service, we will be reaching out to those of you who purchased tickets (subscribers and single ticket buyers) within the next two weeks. We appreciate your patience during this time as we navigate these uncharted waters.

We know it’s a difficult time right now, as live theatre offerings disappear and we must physically distance ourselves in order to keep everyone safe. However, we look forward to the 2020-21 season, full of exciting stories that will bring us together to explore the human condition, creating a platform for reflection and discussion. More information on our next season will be coming soon, and we can’t wait to share it with you.

Until we are gathered together at the theatre again, we wish you and yours health and well-being.

On behalf of all of us at Next Act,

David Cecsarini
