David Cecsarini, Producing Artistic Director
The 2016-2017 season marks David’s 38th year as a theatre professional. During his twenty-nine year Milwaukee residency, he has acted with many of its professional companies and also has extensive credits as a nine year veteran of American Players Theatre in Spring Green, WI. He has proudly served as Producing Artistic Director for Milwaukee’s Next Act Theatre for 25 years. David has directed many Next Act productions; memorable projects include THE OTHER PLACE, THE PAVILION, THE REAL THING, SOMEONE WHO’LL WATCH OVER ME, THE DRESSER, ROOM SERVICE, SIDE MAN and BETWEEN EAST AND WEST. David has also designed sound effects and scores for over 80 professional productions. Favorite sound designs include THE VOICE OF THE PRAIRIE, THE DRESSER, LAST OF THE BOYS, MARY’S WEDDING and MICROCRISIS.
Anne Lehmer, Development Director
Anne became Development Director of Next Act Theatre in January of 2016. Anne has been a development professional in the non-profit sector since 2005. Specializing in major giving, capital campaigns, strategic planning and Board Development, Anne raised $1 million as Major Gifts and Planned Giving Officer with the YWCA in Seattle, WA and led Seattle-based teen mentoring organization “the Service Board” to financial sustainability. She also worked with Seattle’s arts, culture and heritage funder “4 Culture”, the Nordic Heritage Museum and United Indians for All Tribes Foundation. Anne has a B.A. in Anthropology from Mills College and a M.A. in Museum Studies: Fundraising and Administration, from San Francisco State University. Anne is an active member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), Southeast Wisconsin chapter, and a former Board Member of the Washington State chapter of AFP. Anne’s past professional experience includes dance performance and teaching, lending her an insider perspective in the performing arts field.
Rebecca Moder, Marketing Director
Becky is celebrating her fifth season with Next Act. She has been working in the Arts Marketing profession for over eight years now, and looks forward to many more. When not promoting Next Act, Becky assists in the management and marketing of her husband’s film and photo business, Moder Media LLC. She lives in Bay View with her husband Tim.
Mike Van Dreser, Technical Director/Rental Coordinator
This is Mike Van Dreser’s thirteenth season with Next Act Theatre and the seventh year as Technical Director. Mike was previously the resident Master Electrician and Light Board Operator for Next Act. Over the last eight seasons, Mike has worked as Lighting Designer for NEXT ACTORS SUMMER THEATRE FOR TEENS, PANIC EXPRESS, THE ENCOUNTER, FAITH HEALER, WINTER TALES, PAUL ROBESON IN CONCERT, VALUE OF NAMES, BIG BOYS, ONE TIME, A KODACHROME CHRISTMAS, IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE LIVE RADIO SHOW (Next Act Theatre), WHEN THE CURTAIN FALLS, and KISS ME KATE (Greendale High School). Mike has had the good fortune of working with and learning from renowned Lighting Designers Jason Fassl and Andrew Meyers and knows their guidance and continuing education will help make him successful. Mike looks forward to many more productive years with Next Act Theatre and any new opportunities that may come his way.
